International Laboratory Network of the Americas
On January 26, 2026, the Jean-Christophe Yoccoz International Laboratory in Rio de Janeiro celebrated its twentieth anniversary in the presence of Eric Tallon, Consul General of France in Rio de Janeiro, Antoine Petit, CEO of the CNRS, Marcelo Viana, director of the Instituto de Matemática Pura e Aplicada, Impa, and Christophe Besse, director of the National Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Their Interactions, CNRS-mathematics.

On this occasion, the MATHAM research federation was inaugurated, bringing together international research laboratories in mathematics in the Americas. The following laboratories are currently part of it:
- The Laboratorio Del Plata, Instituto Franco-Uruguayo de Matemática e Interacciones in Montevideo, Uruguay, a partnership between the CNRS and the Universidad de la República;
- The CMM-CNRS in Santiago, Chile, a partnership between the CNRS and the Center for Mathematical Modeling;
- The Jean-Christophe Yoccoz Laboratory in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a partnership between the CNRS and the Instituto de Matemática Pura e Aplicada, Impa;
- The Laboratorio Internacional Solomon Lefschetz in Mexico City, Mexico, a partnership between the CNRS and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México;
- The PIMS-CNRS in Vancouver, Canada, a partnership between the CNRS and the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences;
- The CRM-CNRS in Montreal, Canada, a partnership between the CNRS and the Centre de recherches mathématiques.
This federation is a tool to enhance Franco-Pan-American mathematical collaboration.
